Beauty queen gets injunction against Elias
Cheryl Ankrah who was disqualified from representing Trinidad and Tobago at the Miss Universe pageant was yesterday granted an injunction preventing Peter Elias and Associates from selecting any other delegate to replace her. Elias was due to announce a new Trinidad and Tobago Miss Universe 2005 representative at noon today, to replace the disqualified Ankrah at a selection process hosted by Peter Elias and Associates at Trotters (2nd Floor).
The injunction is due to be heard on February 23. The selection process was to be carried out in accordance with the “Requirements for National Director by the Miss Universe Organisation,” with respect to the candidate’s nationality, age, marital status, moral character and intelligence. Ankrah was disqualified following her alleged failure to comply with the preparatory requirements for the Miss Universe 2005 pageant.
