Teen electrocuted on job hunt

AN 18-year-old Barrackpore teen looking for a job at a neighbour’s house was electrocuted yesterday, police said. Reports indicate that Stephan Castello Boyce was electrocuted by an exposed electricity wire around noon at a house some distance away from his sister’s home at Mussarap Trace, Barrackpore. According to police reports, Boyce left his sister’s residence and walked down to the house of a neighbour, Margaret Innocent, which is under construction.

Innocent told investigators that Boyce inquired about a job, but she told him she was unable to employ him. She said she then returned inside her home but minutes later, heard a scream and looked out to find Boyce lying on the ground near an exposed, live electricity wire. Boyce’s relatives contacted the Emergency Health Services, and Boyce was rushed to San Fernando General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. PC Ramdial of the Barrackpore Police Station is continuing investigations.
