The incident reportedly occurred inside their home at 11am. Lawrence Maundy was rushed by EHS ambulance to the Scarborough Hospital, where he was reported to be in stable condition yesterday  afternoon. Newsday was told that his alleged female attacker was warded at the hospital’s psychiatric department under police guard.

According to reports, Maundy was mixing the dough for dumplings, when his attacker crept up on him from behind and started stabbing him on the head and other parts of the body. It is reported that the woman has a history of mental illness and has been receiving psychiatric treatment for several years. A team of officers from the nearby Old Grange Police Station visited the scene. Detectives Alicia Piggott and Glenville Wilson are continuing investigations.
