4 injured in ‘stadium’ accident
FOUR persons had to be rushed to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital yesterday following an accident south of the Hasely Crawford Stadium on the Audrey Jeffers Highway, involving a taxi and a student-driver car. Two of the injured remain hospitalised, the other two have been discharged. According to reports, a car registered to Modern Driving School of Chaguanas, driven by a learner and coordinated by driving instructor Herah Sirju, was proceeding east along the highway when it was rammed from behind by a taxi driven by Richard Rochit. Two passengers in the back seat of the learner’s vehicle, the driver and a passenger in the taxi had to be rushed to the hospital. Police told Newsday one of the passengers suffered a neck injury, while the other suffered an injury to the foot. Police are investigating.
