Govt ministries observe ‘Women’s Day’

The Ministry of Labour and Small and Micro Enterprise Develop-ment, Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries have joined together to celebrate International Women’s Day 2005. The host ministry for the event, which will take place at Riverside Plaza, Port-of-Spain, is the Ministry of Community Develop-ment, Culture and Gender Affairs. The selected theme is “Women’s Health and Well-Being.” This year’s celebration will involve a number of lectures/discussions aimed at educating women on how to take care of themselves.

AP Toussaint will speak on “Women’s Mental and Emotional Well-Being,” followed by “Stress Manage-ment, Women and HIV/AIDS and Women’s Health and Safety in the Workplace.” Several organisations, such as the Cancer Society of Trinidad and Tobago, Family Planning Association, Fit for Life, Johnson and Johnson and Modern Caribbean Enterprises Limited have been invited to display their products.
