Unit Trust unveils new Visa card

THE UNIT Trust Corporation (UTC) will offer the population a new dimension in financial transactions through the introduction of its new Visa Electron international debit card. To allow the population to make the most of this opportunity, the UTC’s offices in Port-of-Spain, San Fernando, Chaguanas and Arima opened last Saturday from 9 am to noon and will be open tomorrow during the same hours. The UTC Visa Electron card allows persons who have money market accounts with the institution to access their money anywhere in the world.

UTC officials said with this card, persons “will feel at ease without the routine of ordering cheques or the insecurity of carrying cash.” The Visa Electron card can be used at any automated teller machine which displays the Visa/Plus sign and has a daily limit of $3,000 or US dollar equivalent outside of Trinidad and Tobago. UTC officials said since the card’s release, many members of the public have expressed interest in acquiring or learning more about the card. Officials explained this was the reason why selected UTC offices have been opened on weekends.
