Mr Hansley we disagree!
THE EDITOR: Some supervisors in the Ministry of Education want to disassociate ourselves with the comments of our colleague Hansley Lushington of Couva in a letter to you, which was published on Tuesday March 16. We believe that the delinking issue will be soon settled. We know that the legislation change is never easy or quick. Look how long it took PSA to sign off on it! While we agree that it has been a long time, Mr Lushington’s language and outburst is not in keeping with the standards we as supervisors should uphold in the educational community.
Mr Lushington went overboard threatening “to break the occupation of the Ministry of Education and by extension your Government.” This is ridiculous. What an example, using the children and parents as pawns in your show of power. What if the principals and teachers we supervise were to have your attitude? Anyway, we worked yesterday, March 17. SEA went smoothly according to all reports and we are still waiting.
