Three killed — landlord thrown through window
THREE persons were murdered yesterday, while a fourth died by unusual circumstances. The most recent murder is that of landlord Anthony Roland, 73, aka ‘Mirt’ who was found dead around 2.30 pm behind his Suffolk Street, Belmont two storey house. The house appeared to be ransacked and there were signs of blood where he lived upstairs which has led police to believe Roland was beaten upstairs and thrown through a back window where he was found. A father, mother and three children are assisting police in their investigations. Insp Alleyne is investigating. Also yesterday, Khalid Pierre, 20, alias "Baggie" was shot dead by a barefoot gunman as he walked along Fisco Junction, Abbe Poujade Street, Carenage, shortly after visiting his girlfriend at her Sam Street, Carenage home. Police believe the killing of Pierre, a labourer at Peake Marine Limited, Chaguaramas, was a reprisal for the murder of two of his associates in the Carenage district earlier this year. Still, in another case of murder around 2.30pm on Friday, residents of Cipriani Avenue, Morvant heard three loud explosions. Three hours later they found the body of a man, later identified as Dylan George, 25, of Red Hill D’Abadie, with two bullet wounds to his head. In an unrelated matter, West End police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Bruno Arrindell. According to reports Bruno, 58, arrived at his Upper Factory Road, Diego Martin home around 3.30 am yesterday highly intoxicated from a wake. He was dropped of by friends. The URP worker was found dead around 6.30 am in a eight-foot deep drain with bruises to his head.
