Lara refused to represent WI

THE EDITOR: The Brian Lara apologists are at it again. Let them know that Lara was not dropped nor was he disallowed from going to Sri Lanka with the West Indies Team. Lara, like his other teammates, except Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Denesh Ramdin, and Daren Powell was selected to make the trip and he (Lara) chose not to go. He and his colleagues refused to play for their country. It was their choice. So that the matter of Lara being left out and not having been given a chance to achieve another record is just syrupy, sentimental hogwash.
