Kidnappers and relatives of kidnapped teen negotiate

Kidnappers continued yesterday to negotiate with relatives of kidnapped teenager Justin Guillen. Kidnappers who demanded a $2 million ransom for the young cricketer continue to maintain their position that Guillen, the son of a real estate businessman will not be released until the $2 million is paid. Jeffrey Guillen, the father of the kidnap victim was yesterday comforted by friends and relatives at his home in west Trinidad.

He has been ill since hearing the news of the kidnapping of his son. Sunday Newsday learned that kidnappers have assured relatives that Guillen is alive and well and not being harmed in any way. The teenager was kidnapped last Wednesday at Pt Cumana. He was about to enter his Toyota Rav 4 when he was bundled into another vehicle. The former student of Queen’s Royal College and Maple Leaf School lives in Barbados and plays for the Barbadian cricket club Pickwick. His mother is an editor at a daily newspaper.
