Time for Manning to invest windfall

THE EDITOR: Patrick Manning has an opportunity to leave a legacy that could be one of the greatest in this country’s history.  Like the head of a household, one of his duties is to provide for the future needs of the family.  In times of plenty, some of the largesse should be salted away for leaner times. If he established a Heritage Fund and every year put 100 million or more into mutual funds managed by professionals (Republic and RBTT Bank).  In ten years time, the country will be envied by all the world and generations will recognise Patrick Manning as the real father of the nation.
