Murder in Laventille, man shot during robbery

A man of no fixed place of abode was shot dead while walking along Mcshine Lands, Laventille, at about 5 pm on Saturday. Police reports revealed that Owen John was walking along a track at Mcshine Lands, when he discovered the lifeless body which bore four gunshot wounds to the left side of the face, shoulders and back. Officers of the Besson Street Police Station were alerted and they went to the scene.

Dr Mootoo ordered the removal of the body to the Forensic Science Centre. Also on Saturday, Michael Bain of La Horquetta was walking along Prescottv Lane, Laventille, at about 8 pm on Saturday when he was confronted by two men. The gunmen robbed Bain and his girlfriend, Michelle Gabriela and also shot Bain several times. Officers of the Besson Street Police Station are investigating.
