Murder suspect held
A 27-year-old man of Quarry Street, Laventille, was arrested early yesterday for the murder of Nixon Smith, 25, alias Pudding. The man was arrested following extensive investigations by acting Insp Johnny Abraham and Sgt Stewart. Reports revealed that officers executed a search warrant at the man’s home and arrested him at about 5 am. They also seized a 9mm gun and ammunition. The suspect was taken to the St Joseph Police Station where he was quizzed up to late yesterday. Smith was shot dead on Monday night while leaving a pub in St Augustine. A loaded 9 mm was found on his body.
