Work for CEPEP in the cemetery

THE EDITOR: My mother recently attended a funeral at the Tunapuna Public Cemetery and was disgusted by the state of the burial ground. The wild bush has been left to grow and is now even higher than five feet. Looking down at the cemetery from the Priority Bus Route, one would think that they were in Caroni staring at canefields.

We have been informed by people in the community that the Tunapuna/Piarco Regional Corporation are the ones in charge of taking care of this public place and all other public places in and around Tunapuna. But from the looks of it they are paying no attention to the cemetery in particular and their head office is right around the corner.

Where do these County Council workers go to clean in the morning? The best thing for the corporation to do is hand the baton over to CEPEP. Yes, there are shortfalls with the well criticised CEPEP. But at least we know that in a day or two the cemetery would be clean. CEPEP workers really do a good job along the East/West corridor and other parts of the country. Come on Tunapuna/Piarco Regional Corporation, clean up your act...literally.
