‘TSTT’ bandit robs Scotiabank

SHADES of a good Hollywood flick played off in Chaguanas yesterday, when a man was able to walk into the Scotiabank at Mid-Centre Mall and walk away with an undisclosed sum of cash before an alarm was raised.

According to reports, a man wearing a hat and a jersey with the TSTT logo imprinted on it walked into the bank at 5.30 pm yesterday and told an official that he had come to repair the phone.

The official then took the man to a part of the building near to the vault, where the man pulled out a gun, announced a hold-up and proceeded to rob the vault after tying up the official. The man then calmly walked out the bank. Some minutes later, the official was able to free herself and raise an alarm. Police quickly cordoned off the area, but failed to capture the TSTT-dressed bandit. Trying to find out how much money was stolen, police and bank officials were still at the scene up to presstime. Police are also checking cameras to see if the man had an accomplice.

Efforts to contact bank officials were futile.
