Businessman, wife in court for gun, ammo
A Central businessman and his wife appeared before a Chaguanas magistrate yesterday charged with possession of arms and ammunition. Nick Medford, 33, and his wife Nadira, 32, of Orchard Gardens, Chaguanas, were arrested at their home during the early hours of Sunday morning. The couple owns a grill shop. They were charged by PC Terrence Williams of the Chaguanas CID. Both husband and wife were charged with possession of a Taurus .22 pistol and 11 rounds of ammunition. Medford and his wife were granted bail by a Justice of the Peace after they were detained at the Chaguanas CID on Sunday. The couple appeared yesterday in the Chaguanas First Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Carol Thomas, but the charges were not read to them. Instead, Thomas transferred the case to the Chaguanas Third Court. The case will be called for hearing on Thursday. Attorney Conrad Roach represented the couple.
