Earthquake tremor felt in northwest Trinidad
Earthquake tremor felt in northwest Trinidad North Trinidad was jolted by an earthquake that occurred 75 kilometres northwest of Port-of-Spain, north of the Gulf of Paria, at 5.20 am yesterday. According to the Seismic Research Unit at the University of the West Indies (UWI), the preliminary magnitude was 4.9 on the Richter Scale. It stated that the quake was reportedly felt in the north-western region of Trinidad, including Port-of-Spain, Santa Cruz, and Maracas Valley. There were no reports of injury or damage.
