Investigate this school
THE EDITOR: This article is being written as regards a recent atrocity which occurred at a San Fernando Girls’ College. This denominational school recently held a luncheon costing $150 per person. Each child attending the school was given a ticket per unit student of school at the same home base. Thus, if two children of the same home attended the school, the home was expected to sell two tickets, if three children then three tickets etc. Children at the school were put in groups and all "delinquent" children ie those who were not able to sell the tickets were chastised and threatened by a school official, who issued threats to innocent children such as expulsion, suspension, registering a "bad" mark against their former non-stained reputation, not accepting them for Advanced Levels. The official also targetted certain children whose parents in her view could have as she put it "more than afforded" the costly luncheon and emphatically told them this. As the parent of a child who was traumatised over this situation. I am making known my view that this is not protocol nor is it moral and the official has certainly overstepped her boundaries. The ASJA Board needs to look into this. M CHEITAN Fyzabad
