Decomposing body found in La Brea
A REPORT at the La Brea Police Station of a foul odour emanating from an abandoned house opposite an early childhood school in La Brea yesterday led police to the discovery of a decomposed body of a man. The body of David Williams, 43, was found in a room in the abandoned house at New Lands, La Brea. Police said the body was in an advanced state of decomposition. At about 10.20 am, Joyce Dick, principal of the La Brea Community Early Childhood Centre at New Lands Road, La Brea, filed a report at the police station about the foul odour. Dick requested that police officers investigate the source of the odour as its strong stench had been affecting classes at her school. Within minutes of the report, a party of policemen, led by Sgt Roopnarine, arrived at the abandoned house where they found the man’s body. Police investigating the death believe that Williams may have died two days ago. Police said Williams, originally from Rousillac, was mentally unstable and was a known drug addict.
