Behaving like animals

The Editor: When we saw the absolute mayhem that the crowd created at the ticket centres where ever they were in TT, we were ashamed. Coupled with the news coverage the previous day we are desolated.

What’s the point in waving the National flag to support our country when we behave like this.

In other countries scalpers are arrested.

No wonder there is so much crime; if with all the police in evidence, people can still mash up fences and climb over them and behave like dogs in the market scrabbling over loose ends of meat at the butcher’s stall.

On another subject.

The real reason for the crime problem is the total lack of police foot patrols on the streets and mobile patrols on the highways. The police are no where to be seen. They are not around so why worry. The criminals feel that they can do as they like and they are right.

On Friday afternoon the 11th November at approximately 3 pm, a black Mercedes Benz car passed a long line of traffic on Serpentine Road, on the wrong side, in the pouring rain and went right at the triangle through the No Entry, and turned right down the Western Main Road travelling west. This motorist broke three traffic laws of which we were aware.

Where were the police? This is just an example.

There are several more that we can give and we are sure that almost everyone can give many more.

When is our police commissioner going to wake up and begin to do his job.
