Congrats pour in for Warriors

Congratulations are coming in from various organisations following the Soca Warriors’ victory over Bahrain and their qualification for the 2006 World Cup Finals in Germany.

In a release, the Special Olympics of TT stated, "Your success is a great inspiration to the nation and to our athletes who must surmount great challenges on a daily basis." They also extended congratulations to Jack Warner for his "tireless work in support of football at all levels."

The TT Chapter of Disabled People’s International also complimented the team for its "unwavering" commitment and perseverance.

"The victory by the Soca Warriors is a ray of sunshine and hope amid this dark condition," said the organisation’s president George Daniel.

Citizens for a Better TT president Harrack Balramsingh said, "This country has experienced one of its greatest achievements ever, which has clearly instilled a lot of pride in the people of this small nation."

Also voicing support was the Co-operative Credit Union League of TT, Caribbean Prestige Foundation for the Performing Arts and the TT Rugby Football Union (TTRFU).

The TTRFU men’s and women’s Sevens teams, which head out to Barbados today for the NAWIRA Sevens Rugby Championship, stated that they will take inspiration from the Soca Warriors.
