Lord Chacon, we’re sorry
THE EDITOR: This is a letter to Lord Chacon: Dear Lord Chacon, As we "Trinis" would say: you would turn in your grave if you could see the condition of the street that was named after you. The road has more holes than a strainer and more humps than a herd of camels. Large numbers of vagrants and street children live on this street, and the stench of urine is unbearable. The drains and pavements are in dire need of repair. This street is also the back entrance to a few food courts and their food remnants are strewn on their steps and on the pavement. I often wonder if this street is ever cleaned. You would never believe that this street runs parallel to the main street in the Capital of Trinidad. On behalf of the Government Sir, I would like to offer my deepest apologies for disgracing your honourable name in this manner. May you try to rest in peace. MRS M SANKAR Mucurapo
