Dry river is an eyesore
In my repertoire, my favourite joke, the one that provokes the most laughter, is the one titled; “now take the Mayor of Port-of-Spain.” That’s all I need to say and the folks who appreciate a good joke just crack up.
Now all joke aside. I have a serious offer for the mayor. I am willing, out of my own pocket to pay for an eye examination and for a pair of eye-glasses for his worship.
It is obvious that the fellow has a problem seeing things that are right under his nose.
There are quite a number of problems in the city needing the immediate attention of the mayor’s office. Today, I wish to specifically address the condition of the dry river.
What a deplorable sight. What a growing health hazard. What a shame on the city. Is the mayor aware of the function of the dry river, of the reason why it was built?
Does his worship not know of the direct link between the dry river and the control of flooding in the city? Apparently not. Mr Mayor, there are countless people in your city in need of employment and there is the dry river in need of a major clean up. Do the math. Open your eyes your worship, or go get the eye glasses and send me the bill.
