Bank gives books to Whim School

This was used to purchase educational books, children’s novels and other learning materials to supplement the collection that the Bank first established in 2004. First Citizens has pledged, as part of a three-year contract to equip the school with additional educational material.

Jennifer Williams, librarian at Whim Anglican School has observed that since the introduction of the “First Citizens Library Collection”, the students are benefiting tremendously.

In a letter of thanks to the bank, Williams said: “Since all subjects are hinged on reading, it is my belief that the students’ academic performance has improved. Information gathered from these books will also make students more knowledgeable about their environment and by extension the world in which they live.”
