Welcome ‘vision’ for PM Portia
“The message is a positive one for our land,” said Roache. “It is more than a welcome, it’s an upliftment. But it is not just for me, but for all the people and that is why I want to share it.”
Roache described Simpson-Miller’s visit as an upliftment to the women of TT and her appointment to the office of prime minister as an inspiration to the Caribbean in general.
“She is a woman inspired,” Roache concluded, “and we as women can identify strength through her.” The message Roache was inspired to write which is titled “Our Vision” reads as follows:
“Welcome the First Lady Prime Minister of Jamaica
A Warm Welcome to Prime Minister Portia Simpson-Miller. Could all women embrace the strength of this woman of God? We need the support of each individual.
This quote hangs in the office of the president of Neiman Marcus: There is no limit to what you can achieve if you don’t mind who gets the credit.
Respect for each other is a fundamental key for our freedom. Let us embrace this gift. Could we all kindly pull our resources together and make it happen? We all can do it.
“We have many people in the fields, we shall embrace the goodness of the soil. Let’s all be creative — a balance that will enable us all to shine. Thank you for coming.”
The statement ends with a quote from the Bible : Micah Chapter 1, verse 2:
“Arise! Go onto Nineva that great city and preach the preaching that I bid thee.”
