Republic appoints Howell as GM

Howell is responsible for Republic’s retail network of 39 branches, as well as the credit card and customer care centres.

Howell currently serves on the board of directors of the National Bank of Industry and Commerce (NBIC), Republic Bank’s Guyana subsidiary.

An alumnus of the University of the West Indies (UWI), St Augustine, Howell holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, (First Class Honours) and an MBA from the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business at UWI. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Telecommunications from the University of Essex. He has attended the Stonier Graduate School of Banking and most recently he completed the Advanced Management Programme at Harvard Business School.

In addition, Howell is a corporate member of the Institution of Electrical Engineers (MIEE); a member of the Engineering Council of the United Kingdom (Chartered Engineer); and a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (MIEEE).

Howell has been a member of Republic Bank’s executive team for the past nine years, in the capacity of General Manager, Information Technology Management.
