Needing two more runs to win off the last ball of their 30 overs, Hamid smashed the delivery for six.

Harmony Hall were bowled out for 165 with Allan Mohammed topscoring with 44 and Desmond Lalloo 20. Haseeb Ali took four wickets for 24 runs and Fareed Haniff two for 31.

Replying, Pond Boys reached 164 for six before Hamid’s heroics.

He finished on 37 not out, with Amar Mohammed getting 41. Rowl Ramdewar took two for 37 and Wazim Khan, two for 27.

Vandamme kept their unbeaten record intact with a comprehensive five-wicket victory over Knockers in their match.

After reaching a challenging 161 for six wickets led by Dhanraj Jageesingh 35 and Andrew Ramberan 31, Knockers saw Vandamme led by 56 from Prem Mohan and Robin Ramraj 38 cruise to 162 for five wickets.

Golconda got home by three wickets in another thrilling finish to their match with Barrackpore X Pupils.

The X Pupils posted a total of 154 for nine in their 30 overs led by Gunness Rooplal, 51, and Nazim Khan, 51.

But balanced scoring throughout their innings with Ramniel Rampaul leading the way with 36 and Satnarine Rambally, 24. Golconda finished on 156 for seven wickets.

And S Dwarika Gandhi United CC won the battle of Gandhi teams when they knocked over Gandhi United by 14 runs.

The S Dwarika men led by Anil Nanan with 30 and Boodram Sonny, 23, were all out for 169, with Shafiat Mohammed taking four for 17.

Ghandi United threatened to take the match and inched along but could only manage 155 before capitulating as Sonny and Nanan completed fine allround performances. Sonny took two wickets for 24 runs and Nanan had two for 30.
