Sahadeo: Better work ethics good for TT

The minister made this point when she addressed an administrative professional programme hosted by the Co-operative Credit Union League of Trinidad and Tobago at the Centre of Ex-cellence, Macoya on Tuesday.

Reflecting on her experiences in the private sector and as a government minister, Sahadeo said it was clear that administrative professionals have now become an integral part of any management team, often being called upon to be great problem solvers and quick decision-makers.

Against this background, the minister said it was critical that all local administrative professionals appreciate the importance of training as a lifelong skill and constantly seek to nurture the development of good ethics in the workplace. Sahadeo told her audience that not only would such ethics improve their professional competencies but create a healthy and nurturing environment at home which could expand to the community level.

She said Government was cognizant of the need to provide the necessary levels of training and skills for administrative professionals.

The minister added that this was currently being done through a wide variety of public and private tertiary education institutions and related agencies.
