Police ID victim

Police report that Contant was knocked down by a car, at about 2.30 pm on Sunday, as it proceeded east along the highway. Contant’s age has been put at about 60. He was five feet, eight inches tall and had grey eyes. Attempts were made by onlookers to resuscitate Contant, who was reportedly still alive after the accident. However, before an ambulance could arrive, he died.

An autopsy is expected to be done, since the body has been identified.
