‘Kiss’ at Queen’s Hall

The Fareid Carvalho and Raymond Choo Kong production has played to full houses and received critical acclaim.

The comedy/thriller tells the tale of what happens when adults become locked into their own existence and a sense of oblivion and indignation replaces the spirit of familial togetherness.

The play centres around the murder of a teenage girl, Amanda. Her neighbour, a teenage boy named Allan, played by Fareid Carvalho, becomes the prime suspect, when it is discovered that he was last to be seen with her.

What is revealed along the way of the investigation, is the volatile state of relations among Allan’s parents — Barry and Janice played by Raymond Choo Kong and Karla Gonzales, and their friends, a married couple — Ron and Pauline played by Conrad Parris and Debra Boucaud Mason.

The investigating officer is played by a menacing Kurtis Gross, whose methods of extracting information from the suspect put new meaning to the words “police brutality.” Deceit and treachery abound throughout this play which keeps audiences guessing up to the explosive climax! Today, at a time when crime seems to have almost become an intrinsic part of our society, the production demonstrates, quite effectively, how crime — its causes and effects — destroys the family unit.

Kiss the Girl and Make Her . . . will continue until Sunday at Queen’s Hall. Show times are 8.30 pm and Sunday matinees at 5.30 pm. For tickets and other information call Queen’s Hall Box Office.
