Ramesh: Let party decide my future

Maharaj, who was questioned about his political ambitions, stated, “If the UNC membership and supporters want me to play a role and if Mr Panday does not have any objection, I would be prepared to consider and accede to their wishes.”

Maharaj, who is against Basdeo Panday quitting as chairman of the party, stressed that he was not prepared to play any role in the UNC, unless the mass membership wanted this.

“I believe strongly in getting the support of the people before taking any action. But from going around the country I feel wanted by the UNC membership,” he said.
