Bas, it’s so nice to see you go

In spite of his long-standing contribution to the politics of this country, his resignation was put off for way too long and now that it has come to pass, I truly hope that the UNC may be able to overcome Mr Panday’s gimmicks and learn to move on without him. He is merely a puppeteer, pulling at the strings of those who do not think for themselves — the likes of Kamla, Chandresh, Hamza, Tim, Wade, oh did I mention Kamla?

Hopefully, Mr Panday will come to realise that the Divided National Congress could never win an election as it is right now, and that he will appoint Mr Dookeran, a man of integrity and honour, to take the reins of Leader of the Opposition and lead the UNC to victory. In light of Mr Panday’s resignation, I truly hope that the UNC will pull together and serve the interests of the people and not their own self-interest.
