Lara used for marketing

Clearly, the cowardice of the visionless dinosaurs who have a stranglehold on the administration of the West Indies cricket, believe that Mr Lara can deliver the cricket World Cup. We will wait and see.

My own belief is that West Indies cricket is sacrificed and Mr Lara is being used for marketing purposes only.

Certainly, today in the Caribbean, there are choices available for the appointment of the West Indies cricket captain for the future, and the itinerary for the next two years would have afforded him the experience and international exposure right here at home.

He would also have the guidance of both Mr Lara and Mr Chanderpaul at his disposal. Mr Lara should have been allowed to unreservedly take on the rest with his supreme batting.

To do otherwise would further delay the re-emergence of West Indies cricket on the higher rungs of the ladder.
