Teen fined $1,000 for army jacket

Ian Wilson appeared before Magistrate Gloria Jasmath in the Tunapuna Second Magistrates’ Court, and the camouflage jacket was brought to the court by an officer of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF).

Wilson appeared unrepresented and was fined $1,000 by the magistrate. He was remanded back into custody as he was unable to pay the fine.

Wilson was caught wearing the jacket by officers of the IATF who were on patrol at Grand Bazaar on Saturday night.

A second man from Claxton Bay was also due to appear for wearing a similar jacket.

Sgt Balchan Mahase was the court prosecutor.
