12,000 to write NCSE exams
The NCSE will provide certification that will reflect all aspects of students’ successful experiences in the Forms One to Five period of secondary education. Students will be assessed at two levels: the outcome of the curriculum which consists of aesthetic expression, citizenship, communication, personal development, problem solving and technological competence.
Form Three students will be certified at Level One and this certificate would signify that the student had achieved specific learning outcomes in the eight core subject areas, namely Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Visual and Performing Arts, Spanish, Physical Education and Technology Education. Level Two targets the work performed by students in Forms Four and Five.
Approximately 500 teachers are expected to be involved in the grading of the students’ scripts.
