A man to be embraced
Over the years billions of dollars have been spent but yet we are lacking in the most basic of amenities. The health facilities, public transport, sanitation, education, water supply, security, roads (especially agricultural) are all in a mess. Government has recognised its failure and is now on an advertising campaign to create an image of improvement in health and education through media advertisements, millions down the drain again.
Talk to anyone who tried to use the medical facilities for an MRI or some other service and you get the familiar story of long waits, hostile reception, and cancellations of appointments. Almost nightly in the news citizens could be seen demonstrating somewhere in the country for roads and water, amenities which we should have had a long time ago, and which our less fortunate Caribbean neighbours enjoy.
And now comes a man of ideas, integrity, competence and determination to rescue us from this evil.
I say he has to be a brave man for I can vouch that he is not stupid or crazy. This is a man the country should embrace for with him lies our hope of some kind of future for the young. He is a breath of fresh air compared to the arrogant, corrupt, inept and rabble rousing politicians which stalk our land.
This is a man of whom we can speak proudly to our children and ask them to emulate. He stands resolute against the rampant corruption and selfishness around him. He will be our saviour. Winston, many are behind you, perhaps too silent. Our hope lies with you for a better Trinidad and Tobago.
