Students charged for stealing $1

According to a police report, at about 10 am, the students forced 15-year-old Roger Ramgoolam into a classroom. After locking the door, the report stated, the students dealt Ramgoolam several cuffs and kicks about the body.

The report stated that Ramgoolam was then robbed of one dollar.

Upon hearing about the incident, the school’s principal telephoned the police. The students were arrested and taken to the police station where they were questioned about the incident. Ramgoolam was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital where he was treated and discharged.

The four were subsequently charged and are expected to appear in court today.
