Selectors overlooked good players
Trinidad and Tobago, completed the “double,” yet none of the players who put in creditable performances in making TT success a reality is called up. Imagine Richard Kelley was voted as the top all rounder in the Caribbean for the 2006 season, and yet he couldn’t even get in. If the West Indies selectors continue this way then WI cricket will never get back to the number one spot.
While I would agree that one has to work hard in order to succeed in cricket in the Caribbean, the selectors must also take into consideration that the talent nowadays is not like days gone by and they must not frustrate but they should encourage young talent. For instance, the likes of Dave “Tadpole” Mohammed and Amit Jaggernauth should be given a call.
