Best of those seen out was The Terminator who had a handy gollop over 400 metres in a time of 27.81 seconds. All other runners were sent to do just pacve work, with racing taking a breather this weekend.

Meanwhile, ARC stewards came down on trainer Gary Hearn who drew a $200 fine for saddling his charge Living In Hope in the paddoc without their permissiohn and the late appearance in the parade ring of both that horse and Sure Wager resulting in a delay of Race 4 on Day 12. Trainer Derick Mosca also felt the wrath of the stewards fined $100 for the late arrival of Hatrick into the parade ring in Race six of the same day’s programme.

Teenager Nela Mohammed continues to lead both apprentices and open jockeys despite having just one winner on Day 13, Saturday last.

He has so far landed 23 winners, nine more than Gary Laban on 14 and defending champion Wilmer Galviz 12.

Champion trainers John O’Brien (wins) and Glenn Mendez (stakes), continue to dominate their peers with O’Brien haveing saddled 16 winners and Mendez 12 followed by Grant Lourenco on ten.

Owners and other connections of three-year-olds are reminded that second subscription of $400 for the Midsummer Classic becomes due today.
