Benny Hinn under the microscope

THE EDITOR: Why is the Maha Sabha making such fuss about Benny Hinn’s proposed visit to TT later this month?
TT is a free country. We enjoy the freedom to practice religion and freedom of speech.
If his main objection is that Benny tells the world we are full of voodoo and demons, I very much doubt that anyone outside there really cares.
To ban him for such trivia would do more damage to our reputation as a free country than to allow him entry.
There are investigative reports on faith healers like Benny that have been aired on international TV, alleging that this is a glorified magic show.
Whether it is true or not, I don’t know, but the evidence seems sound enough for me to suggest that it is opportune for the local media, both print and electronic, to do thorough investigations into some random cases of those who he supposedly may heal during his visit.
These miracles should be identified and the progress of the miracle healing carefully checked.
Not like the man who found himself on such a stage once. The preacher touched him on the forehead and said: “Walk! I tell you are healed!” The man replied: ‘Boss, is walk I have to walk tonight, because I really come up here to ask if anybody see who teef meh bike.”
If Benny is proven indeed to be a genuine miracle worker, give the man his credit, but on the other hand, if he proves to be false, then expose him for what he is.
