New Arima traffic routes

The Mayor’s Office said yesterday there will be an experimental re-routing of traffic at the end of the month. Vehicles entering the eastern borough will do so from John Shaw Avenue and Queen Mary Avenue onto Industry Street. Main Road and Priority Bus Route (PBR) maxi taxis are to enter Arima from John Shaw Avenue and Queen Mary Avenue respectively, proceed north to Industry Street, east onto Anglican Street, north on King Street, east on Rose Street, north on St Joseph Street and onto their respective stands. Maxis will exit via the Arima Old Road. Vehicles travelling east on Guanapo Street will be prohibited from turning right onto Quesnel Street and are advised to use Maurice Avenue instead.

Vehicles proceeding west on Guanapo Street will be prohibited from turning right onto Moreno Street. They will instead be required to turn right onto Thanno Lane, which will be one way with traffic moving in a northerly direction.
