Benny Hinn at Licensing Dept
When I got there I saw something posted on the wall near to the entrance of the building. It was a poster advertising the events scheduled with the arrival of one Benny Hinn. I then asked myself if religious materials of this kind were allowed in and around government buildings.
I then dismissed the thought thinking that prayer can’t be a bad thing in this day and age.
After filling out the necessary forms and dealing with the not-so-courteous staff I had to wait for over an hour to have my picture taken. When I proceeded to the cramped little room which held six of us I was addressed by a vociferous, heavy-set woman who had this to say to me. “Oh lawd, look another one! I should ah walk wit mih holy water today!?” Imagine my shock when I realised she was referring to me. Apparently she was displeased with a ring that someone had on and she saw a similarity with the one I was wearing. She then proceeded to bold-facedly ask me what was my religion and to whom I pray to. I responded by saying I pray to my God that listens. She then said to me that I need to be saved and Jesus loves me.
I responded by telling her that I love Jesus too (even though I am Hindu) because I am very open minded about God but she just kept on ranting on about Jesus saving me. Was all this necessary for me to renew my license? If Jesus was present in that room with us would he be satisfied
with the way in which she passed judgment on me and tried to intimidate me? I would just like to say to that woman that she should ensure that she is saved before she tries saving others.
