I am willing to die to protect environment

I was willing to sacrifice my life to protect the environment, and particularly this area as it is a crucial water catchment area and is located in one of the most environmentally sensitive areas in the Northern Range.

It seems as if all the unscrupulous people in our society in the pursuit of material gains are given carte blanche to destroy our beautiful country.

I have in my possession all the relevant material pertaining to my struggle to protect the environment and I intend to send all this material to the international bodies, Green Peace among others, to enlist their help in my struggle since we were all interconnected, and what affects one affects all.

In their mad pursuit of money and power no one seems to care about the legacy we are leaving for future generations, which is mainly one of destruction and mayhem.

The severe flooding that is affecting Arima and environs now will be intensified when the rainy season begins, again due to this quarrying and the new housing developments.

There is a WASA water treatment plant located just beneath this quarry and it is my understanding that millions have just been spent to replace pumps, as the silt coming down the mountain is so voluminous that the pumps cannot handle it. Come the rainy season and the massive flooding this country will experience will be unprecedented, if things are not rectified.

When Government says their plans will go on despite the will of the people, unless we take a stand “God help us.”

The Eastern Region is being systematically destroyed and now it’s the turn of the West, namely Chaguaramas to be specific “Tucker Valley.”

I intend to go to the people; I have shown them that if you have a cause you must be willing to fight and die for it. I may be killed for my efforts as life is so cheap these days and I have been recently receiving threats but at least I would have instilled in our citizens the will to stand up and fight for what you believe in even if it means sacrificing life, for sometimes it is in dying one truly lives.
