Warner praises ‘Warriors’ cops

Warner, in a letter to Paul, spoke highly of the officers for their efficient management of traffic, time, patience dealing with schoolchildren and overall enthusiasm to the assignment.

“I had the pleasure of accompanying the Soca Warriors and, moreso, witnessing first hand, the superb performance of and the invaluable service rendered by ASP Jackson, Cpls Balfour, Salvary and PCs Persad, Ramphal and Melville during the said tour,” wrote Warner.

He added that as everyone else, he was impressed by how they handled their duties.

“In short, they have been a tribute to the Police Service and it is in that context that I do, hereby, commend you and the Police Service for the performance of these officers to whom you should kindly convey these sincere sentiments,” Warner noted in his letter.

He added that on Saturday, ASP Jackson, Cpl Balfour and PCs James, Mc Intyre and Nicholson were called at short notice to escort the Soca Warriors from Crowne Plaza to Piarco, when they left for England, and again they performed creditably.

Warner added that his faith in the Police Service has been restored. The Soca Warriors are in training in England for the football World Cup in Germany next month.
