Man dies on Milner Hall site

Arco Andrews, an employee of Haynes Plumbing, a sub-contractor to Kee Channona Ltd, the main contractor for the construction of the new hall dormitories, was injured between 2 pm and 2.10 pm, the university said in a release yesterday.

Andrews was rushed to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, Mt Hope but was pronounced dead on arrival. No one else was injured, said the university which gave no details of how the accident happened.

“The main contractor, with jurisdiction over the site, has initiated an investigation into the incident.

“The site has been and continues to be out of bounds to students and the staff,” said the university, which offered condolences to Andrews’ family.
