Many crosses to bear

Perhaps the next move will be for non-Christians worldwide to advocate the removal of the French “Croix de Guerre” and the German “Iron Cross,” those two country’s highest military honours which are bestowed on soldiers for extreme bravery in times of war, regardless of religious persuasion. Likewise the British “Victoria Cross.”

Then of course they may very well want to do away with the “Red Cross,” an international organisation that has rendered aid to individuals of every race and creed and saved thousands of lives in the process, as well as comforting the sick and dying.

Non-Christians will be faced with more problems than they can imagine when they come to a “crossroad,” unless of course they can persuade the works ministry to replace all the crossroads with “roundabouts.”

But come to think of it that problem should not arise, since non-Christians will have all but abandoned their cars and other vehicles every one of which is propelled by two or more crosses in their mechanical drive system.

It is really astonishing, the quantity of crosses one has to bear.

Looking on the bright and positive side, with the removal of the two words Trinity and Cross from the TT vocabulary, the art of “double crossing” which is openly practised by Christians and non- Christians alike may be eliminated? Also, Tobago may be able to stay, but the name “Trinidad” may be offensive to non-Christians.

All in favour of “Manningrad” say “Aye.”
