TTEC in the dark over blackout

SOME DIEGO MARTIN residents were crying foul after a blackout left them unable to see the second half of the TT-England World Cup game in Nuremberg yesterday. Reports reaching Newsday yesterday suggested that several parts of Diego Martin and Valsayn were without power during the crucial second half of yesterday’s match, the latter part of which England scored twice to snatch victory.

Residents in parts of Petit Valley said they were without power for periods of up to an hour and were very upset that they were not able to see the second half of the match. However, checks by Newsday indicated that Valsayn North had electricity but it could not be confirmed whether or not the situation was the same in Valsayn South.

When contacted yesterday, TTEC officials were unaware of reports of any blackouts. Last week, TTEC officials said mechanisms had been put in place to ensure that people would be able to see yesterday’s game without interruption.
