Ravi Bissembhar in Father’s Day concert

According to show promoter Rafi Mohammed, Bissembhar is one of the most popular Indian male artistes in TT because of his versatility and charming personality. He is the youngest musical producer, director, arranger, singer and one of the most sought after musical programmers.

Bissembhar started singing at the age of 13 and since then, this young artiste has just kept on aspiring. He attended the Sangre Grande Hindu school, North Eastern College, the University of the West Indies and he is attempting to complete his degree in Business Administration (ABE) Currently, at 23, he is also a top radio personality with radio 90.5 FM.

This young superstar was always inspired by international artistes like Kumar Sanu, Sonu Nigam, Eminem and Machel Montano, but what inspires him the most is his parents, his brother Anil, sisters Nalini and Nisha. Bissembhar has toured the Caribbean, USA, Canada, Guyana, Europe and Suriname; representing Trinidad’s culture — chutney and soca. He was also voted the Best New Artiste in the year 2003 by Radio 103 FM and he received the award for Best Bhajan album in 2005. He is presently nominated for Best Chutney Soca artiste at the Virgin Records Awards in March 2006. Ravi was also a finalist in the Mastana Bahar and Chutney Soca Monarch competition.

Presently he is making waves with his big hit songs, ‘‘Gul Yuh Start Meh,’’ ‘‘Rum is Meh Lover’’ and ‘‘Teer Cheer.’’ Other hit songs include Karma slam ‘‘One and Two,’’ ‘Yeh kahan,’’ ‘Mom and Dad,’’ ‘‘Badi Door’’ (featuring General Imran) ‘‘Seene Meh Dil,’’ ‘‘Ek Tera Saath,’’ ‘‘Karma Rompe,’’ “The End,’’ ‘‘Channa Vey’’ and his version of ‘‘Mangalam Ganesham.’’

Some of his greatest achievements include performing along side Nitin Mukesh in 1996 and Shah Rukh Khan in 1999. He played music for Kumar Sanu at the 90.5 FM-cook out competition in 2004. Last December he was chosen to open the Bollywood Music Awards and the Bollywood Movie Awards 2006. Karma received Best Sounding Band at Unifest 2006 in Miami.

It will be his first concert ever and he guarantees to deliver. Bissembhar has already produced five Albums which include ‘‘Karma Evolution,’’ ABC, Party Mix, Secret 48, Karma Mangalam, Destiny and Karmasutra. He is now preparing to launch his baby albums, Destiny 2 soon.

The programme will include the sexy and sensuous dancer, Sophia Mustapha and her Nirvana Dancers and the ever popular Omardath Maharaj and Rakesh Yankaran.
