Put customer needs first
THE EDITOR: What does quality customer service mean to you? To me it means showing interest in the needs of your customers, being courteous, responding efficiently and speedily when customers need help and this is what we as customers must demand. But it seems as though employers have lost the value of good customer relations, and that the quantity of customers and not the quality of the customer service is valued. I have had several encounters with poor customer service, but one of my worst experiences was when I went to purchase a pair of sneakers at one of the country’s leading shoe stores. When I entered the store the atmosphere was one of relaxation, all the sales representatives seemed to be about their own business. I looked around the store and no other customers were being attended to. I was so annoyed that I just walked out of the store and did not bother to buy anything. Employers and their employees need to start putting their customers first and paying more attention to their wants and needs, because if they don’t they will lose customers and losing customers means no business. They just lost one customer.
