I was humiliated in Chaguanas
THE EDITOR: I wish to inform you and the public about an unfortunate incident that occurred at a store in Chaguanas last Friday evening. I was shopping and looking for a few items, when I entered the store, and while looking around, I realised that the guard at the store had been watching my every move, probably because of the way that I was dressed.
I ignored it at first but after a while I started to feel uncomfortable. On exiting the store with the items that I had just bought, I was stopped by the guard, who started to search the bags and demanded to see the bill. Even though he saw the bill, he proceeded to search me as if I had stolen something and the cashier who had just sold me these items watched him and said nothing. This was a great embarrassment to me because other people were passing and watching at the manner in which he was handling me. I had been left outside the store emotional and confused. If anything could be done about this incident I would be most grateful.
